In both rooms we have tried to create everything that we want to have when we stay in a B&B. Both bedroom suites benefit from French doors and Juliet balconies giving uninterrupted views over the Sound of Sleat to Loch Hourn and the Knoydart peninsula, as well as over our garden and croft where the chickens roam freely!
Our original thistle theme has been reflected in all the luxurious fabrics and design features we have chosen for each suite. The bed linen was embroidered to our specification picking out the colours in the lambswool curtains. We obtained many samples of Harris tweed before we chose the fabrics for the chairs. We made our own lampshades to match and then used local artists to make our finishing touches – lavender hearts, key-rings made from all the fabrics used in each room and tweed baskets to hold toiletries and teas and coffees.
Each room has a comfortable king size bed, tea tray with a selection of teas and coffee (fresh milk will be provided on arrival and refreshed as required), 400 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets, waffle robes and slippers, hairdryer, freesat smart TV, USB charging points at both bedside tables, free wi-fi and Bose blue tooth speakers.
We are very lucky to have Julia Christie as our artist in residence this year. Her work – from original oils to framed prints – is displayed throughout the B&B.
Lightweight LED torches are provided in each room for your use should you choose to take an evening stroll or visit the Eilean Iarmain Hotel (a short walk away) for dinner.
